If I plan to use Nexus as my artifact repository, do I need to install the CloudBees Flow repository server?
(I got this question from a client and I wanted to share the question and the answer publicly, incase it helps someone.)

From the install documentation here: Running an Advanced Command-Line Installation
When you do an advanced install, you can choose n
for the question:
Install a CloudBees Flow repository server? [n/Y]
You do not need to install the built-in repository server at all, you can use Nexus for all of your artifacts.
You can also choose to install the built-in repository server, and use it, as well as Nexus to store artifacts.
The documentation for the EC-Nexus
plugin can be found here:
https://downloads.electric-cloud.com/plugins/EC-Nexus/1.0.2.2019091102/EC-Nexus_help.xhtml
As well as inside of the product, when you go to Administration
-> Plugins
, there is a Help
button, as well as a Configure button:

I'm going to disagree here. You need to install the Flow repo even if you're not going to use it for pipeline. The reason is that some Flow plugins use the repo as part of the installation process and if you don't have it, you won't be able to promote those plugins.
